How To Manage Duplicate or Similar Leads
When managing leads it is important to minimise duplicate leads where possible. There are several ways of achieving this;
- When a Lead is manually loaded we present the matching duplicate customers and leads so that the user knows not to manually create a duplicate lead. This shows the user all leads in the dealership and not just leads owned by the user who is currently logged in. Read more HERE
- For electronic leads there is a setting available that enables AutoPlay to automatically match any incoming electronic lead against a customer record, with any existing open lead. Read more HERE.
If a duplicate or similar open lead is created against a customer record there are several things that can be done to alert users;
- With the 'Possible Duplicate Leads' role you can be notified about any new lead created against a customer who already has a lead. Read more HERE.
- When managing your leads in the Dashboard a warning will display if the customer has multiple open leads against them. Read more HERE.
If you do end up with multiple open leads against the same customer and you do recognize these as duplicates it is possible to merge the leads using either the similar open lead warning, or by using the 'Merge Leads' function. Read more
