How To Upload Leads Via CSV File Import

In AutoPlayAuto.com it is possible to import a excel spreadsheet of leads.  This can be done by selecting the 'Import Leads' option in the grey action menu.




In order to import leads into AutoPlay you need to use a specific format.  The format is available to download via the 'Download Header' button.  This will download a CSV Excel file to your device with field headers which will allow you to import leads.  You must not change, remove or add any headers as this will cause your import to fail.




Before you click 'Upload' make sure your Excel file is closed, and saved as a CSV file.  Once uploaded the file will show in this window and you can click 'Import' to load your leads into your AutoPlay Sales Pipeline Dashboard.

The user selected here will overwrite any User specified in the uploaded file unless the ‘Not Allocated’ or As per Import File option is selected.
  1. Not Allocated. This will have the same logic as selecting a specific user, and all leads in the file will be Not Allocated.
  2. As per Import File - this will allocate each lead  to the user specified for that lead. If the user is not specified, the lead will be Not Allocated - and if the user is specified and can’t be found, this will be indicated in the import report email. Such a lead will also be Not Allocated.



The files will be scheduled to import within the hour.  When importing leads AutoPlay will apply the following customer matching rules to ensure you do not inadvertently create duplicate customer records.
  1. ID
  2. VMS ID
  3. Email & Full Name
  4. Email & Mobile
  5. Email & Phone
  6. Full Name & Mobile
  7. Full Name & Phone
  8. Mobile Only
In order to successfully create a lead using the 'Import Leads' function your file must have at least one of the name fields, plus one of Mobile, Phone or Email.
