SMS Your Customers T&C's To Sign Contactlessly

Contactless Signatures On T&C's

With the COVID-19 pandemic becoming 'contactless' has become a key part of conducting test drives and managing customer leads.  As of 29/04/20 AutoPlay has built in the ability to send the customer an SMS of the Terms and Conditions that they are required to sign, in order for the customer to sign them on their own device (instead of the salespersons or a shared device that would require disinfection after every use).  The new functionality is built into the following T&C's;

Contactless Signatures functionality is available for default for all customers.  No SMS Gateway is required and as of 28/04 AutoPlay have decided to absorb the costs of any SMS user to send T&C's to customers.

Whenever you are loading a lead or test drive you will see a number of T&C's that must normally be signed directly in AutoPlayAuto.com.  With Contactless Signatures you will see a button to 'SMS DISCLAIMER/SMS TERMS/SMS WAIVER' next to the 'VIEW & SIGN' button.  This button will only become active if you have entered a valid number in the Mobile field.  If you attempt to send the T&C's SMS without a mobile number you will see a warning message.



Clicking on this button will trigger an SMS to the customer immediately.



The message within each SMS will contain the dealerships account name, a reference to the type of T&C's that need to be signed and a link to open up a web page to read and sign the T&C's on their own smartphone.



The display of the T&C's will differ depending on the type selected.  Some like the COVID-19 DIsclaimer make use of embedded text, whilst others like Test Drive T&C's and the Privacy Policy use embedded PDF's.  When displaying the PDF these display the full width of the screen, but as they are small the user can pinch to zoom as they normally would do on their smartphone device.

The recipient also has the ability to 'DOWNLOAD' a copy of the T&C's for their records should they wish.



At the bottom of your browser window there is a down button.  If your T&C's are multiple pages long the down button is there to automatically take the user to the bottom of the screen to show them where they need to sign the T&C's.  At the bottom of the T&C's you'll find a small toggle to agree to a statement and then the recipient is able to sign to agree to the T&C's by tapping on the 'ACCEPT' button - all on their own device.



For security reasons the T&C's have a limited time to be completed before they will expire (currently set to 60 minutes).  If the customer has not signed the T&C's and the page has expired you can resend as many times as you like using the 'SMS DISCLAIMER/SMS TERMS/SMS WAIVER' buttons. 

When the customer signs the T&C's AutoPlay will automatically refresh the page and will;
  1. Tick the 'Accepted' / 'Terms Accepted' check box
  2. Add a Date and Time stamp to the T&C's section
  3. Disable the 'SMS' button



As soon as the customer signs the T&C's the 'SMS DISCLAIMER/SMS TERMS/SMS WAIVER' buttons will be inactive, but you can still overwrite these signatures from within AutoPlayAuto.com.  You can clear the signature in order to resend the SMS by unchecking the 'Terms Accepted' check box.



Test Drive T&C's done directly via AutoPlayAuto.com require the Salesperson to also sign the T&C's.  However when the customer has signed the T&C's on their own device via the SMS the Salesperson Signature is unable to be saved.
