Enabling A Data API Listing Export Management Tick Box Export

Enabling A Data API Listing Export Management Tick Box Export

Overview

As many advertising sites have tiered price points allowing a capped amount of vehicles to be advertised, The Listing Management Queue screen has been optimised to allow for specific vehicles to be selected from a larger subset of data and exposed to the AutoPlay Data API. As the API is a 'Get' model where the third party accesses the dealer inventory to retrieve them, AutoPlay has built this option out so that only the selected vehicles are exposed to the specified key and Token

Provisioning

Third Party Data API Key and Token
As with all Data API set ups, the third party must be provisioned on the Data API. On most occasions a new AutoPlay account will be created for the vendor, they will have no access to this, but the API record will reside in this account.

Dealer Group
The vendor account must also have a dealer group set up, and the dealerships are added to this. This will enable the API record to appear available in the below dealership export record.

Dealership Export Record
Slightly differing from a regular Data API set up, this will require for there to be an export record enabled also - the dealership wanted to export listings will still need to have the Data API management permissions set up.

  1. Export Record Name - This will show as the listing check box title within the listing detail, and also as the Portal name on the Export Management Queue dashboard
  2. Select "AutoPlay DataAPI"
  3. Select the Data API of the third party vendor set up in step 1

Role Management
Set up a Listing Export Management Queue role - or from within an existing role (this will depend on the user list that you would like to give permissions to), within the Exports accordion you will be able to select any exports that have been set up for the dealership account

Workflow

As a dealership user with permissions to access the Export Management Queue, I will be able to select individual listings for a Data API export. This will be found in the same section on the listing detail page, in the General accordion with the check box to export. The checkbox will show the name of the export record as mentioned above

As a user with these same permissions, they will have access to the Listing Export Mgt (management) dashboard
